Has anyone here ever played a Multi-User Dungeon game? They are a text type adventure game played via telnet. I am interested in programming such a game in the D language, called DMud or something like that. If there is any other interest, we can start a project on this site.
Anybody interested?

As for a name, how about Muddee or variations on that theme.

Yes. I love text adventures, and I've written some (single-user) ones already. A multi-user one would be a great diversion. _________________ --

A Mud? I used to code on a *heavily* modified PennMUSH, a long time ago.
You'll get my support on one condition: implement something easier to use/read/maintain than MUSHcode. Please!
(seriously though, these are always fun to write. Go for it!) _________________ -- !Eric.t.Anderton at gmail |

OK, I came up with MUDDL (said like "muddle") which is Multi User Dungeon in D Language.
I also started a new Wiki to design and document the program. The new wiki is located at http://www.interlang.org/muddl/wiki/index.php/Main_Page. Once the design starts to take shape, then I'll e-mail the admins here to create a project. Of course, it's a Wiki so you are all welcome to sign up and put in your 2 cents worth.
Thanks for the ideas and comments. _________________ This message will self-destruct. |

I've been toying around with an idea for a D MUD for a while now. I just haven't had the time to pursue it. Good luck with this! |

I'd been wanting to write a D-based MUD/MUVE server myself, and toyed around with a number of ideas. I may just have to contribute to this project. (And MUDDL/"Muddle" is a darn cute name.) _________________ Chris Nicholson-Sauls |

I don't care what name will be, but I vote for the driver to be something similar to LPMUD's (hardcoding is so wrong) :D
And yes, the thread was long dead... |

I'm still watching this idea. I'm too busy to get involved yet but I'll be keeping up to date with your project. _________________ --
