1. The player is not compatible with Vista Aero.
2. The volume bar and colour settings should not use the progress bar of Windows, because Vista displays an animation for it, which is annoying in this case.
3. It would be nicer, if the options would get icons (Play DVD = disk, Open URL = globe, etc.)
4. Ability to make screenshots
5. The about window should also read out and display MPlayer version information
6. The player seems not to be able to handle .m3u and .asx files.
7. Clip information could also contain ID3v2 information by the commands "-demuxer lavf"
8. An option to allow only one instance of the player. |

Any response?
Btw: Is there already a date for a new version? |

I think I can answer 1 and 2. The reason for that is that rules player uses an old version of DWT that is ported from SWT 3.0.2 win32 or something like that. That means it uses the win32 API not the new WPF on vista and no one has ported SWT WPF to D, yet. |

Thanks.
Hopefully this will be fixed with the new interface. |

Press 'S'.
Sorry, I don't have the time to do the rest.

But will the interface rewrite solve the problems with Vista?
And btw: I don't want to annoy you and I accept it, if you have not the time for any big features, but I think, that my wishes aren't that complicated:

Those files contain a link to the media stream files. The player only needs to read them out.

7. Clip information could also contain ID3v2 information by the commands "-demuxer lavf"
|
This is a simple command for MPlayer

8. An option to allow only one instance of the player.

Should only be a short line of code to realize this.
Would be great, if you could take a look into it anyhow, if you have some free time again.
Thanks. |

Of course, your features are not complicated. If I get my hands on the player once again I will implement them. But the way things are going I don't think I will have the chance to spare time for fun I don't even have the time to use it, let alone develop it. |

In other words, the project is dead? |

Well I wouldn't call it dead. It is not that I don't want to continue the project (in which case it would be dead), it is just my lack of time (which is unlikely to change). If someone founds a fund for sponsoring the development or something, so I don't have to work something else, I will gladly continue the development |

I don't know how the interface will be rewritten but DWT needs to be ported to the WPF API (I don't think this is likely to happen), or one have to use the WPF API directly. |

That's good, because RulesPlayer is the best frontend for MPlayer in my eyes and has much potential.

Well, sadly I don't believe that this is going to happen in the next time.

But this sounded very optimistically that there will be a little bit time for the development or am I wrong? |

There was a bit optimism at that time. I had some spare time and some ideas few months ago, so I did some development, but that spare time is long gone now. |
