I've bean using ddbi with mysql under Phobos. to make this work I've had to hack a number of things including some work with alias to make it compile under Phobos and some fairly invasive work in MysqlDatabase.d to get stored procedures that return a select to work. I'm far from an expert in any of this so I don't claim that what I have bug free (or anything close) but it compiles and runs correctly (I think) in my uses cases. I'd be willing to submit a patch of what I've done or push it back into a branch for someone else to merge back in.
