Just to say that I have now released a tarball and rpms as promised earlier. The tarball should now build and install - I found that there was some stale configuration in the Makefile.in that for some reason didn't affect the rpm build. That autoconf/automake stuff is wonderful when it all works, but ...

If anyone has problems building from this tarball, please let me know.
