You may be interested to know that the TracForums plugin, that is nearing completion, serves as forums, but can also be a type of blog. The first entry in a thread can be your blog post and the rest is just comments. An earlier version of it can be found in the Tango project, but it is getting more robust shortly.
development is going well right now: http://www.dsource.org/projects/tracforums/timeline
