What's the state of Sinbad?
It would be great if somebody could continue work on it. I've had a look at Ogre and am impressed at how comprehensive the project is.
It would be incredible if some day D had such a comprehensive 3D toolkit too.

Agreed... obviously, or I wouldn't have started this. I can't speak for the small handful of other Sinbad people I've "recruited" since proposing this, but I for one am waiting for two things.
1 - A 1.0 release of DMD and the D spec, so we can have a long-term stable development platform.
2 - The free time to work on it... I used to have it, but its disappeared at some point without asking me first. _________________ Chris Nicholson-Sauls |

Understood. It's hard to hit a moving target, I'm sure.
I just wanted to check to see if an interest still existed.
Thanks for responding!

Well, I think without the release of D spec, it really hurts most projects. How is the current status of the project ?? |

Sadly, it has disappeared off my radar. I'm committed to to many other plates at the moment. |

I'm much the same as larsivi. A recently insane personal/business life has eaten most of my free time, which in turn is taken up by prior obligations to private projects. I think the only reason I don't outright call Sinbad dead, is because I still believe in the idea. If anyone else wants the proverbial torch, its just laying there anyhow. _________________ Chris Nicholson-Sauls |

hmmm, well D 1.0 is out - still no movement?
It would be a real shame for this to fade into abandonment... which it looks like it may have done. |

With Tango out there, it will be a very long time (most likely never) before I get into this again. |

Ditto. Between "real job" hassles and other projects that came up in the interim, it could be a while. I'm still watching OGRE, though, and still wish for this to happen. And I'm really glad to have waited, as some of D's great advances could be great for Sinbad as well. _________________ Chris Nicholson-Sauls |
