unicode casing

Posted: 04/10/07 12:46:24 Hi, I can't seem to find any Unicode case functions - like toLower() - I mean versions which work properly with non-ASCII characters. Did I just miss them? If not, I'm willing to write such functions - I'll sure need them for the program I'm trying to write, so I might as well contribute them to the Tango project.

Posted: 04/10/07 13:00:14 yeah, Tango is currently missing such things. There are external libraries that go "all the way" in terms of handling these concerns (such as the IBM ICU project), so the concern for us is this: how far do we need to go with replicating ICU functionality, before it makes sense to include it within Tango? In other words, we don't wish to expose a little bit here and a little bit there; would rather do it right to start with. If that's your goal also, then we'd definitely be interested :)
