Eclipse 3.6 (Helios) or greater, but only up to Eclipse 4.0 (not including).

The reason I'm asking is, I installed DDT but when the installation was done I couldn't find any traces of anything installed. No D project or D modules. No preferences for D, no D perspective, nothing.

Hi I'm in the same boat.

I've installed on eclipse 3.6.1 running on OSX. Interestingly if I try and install it again the installation fails with an error message saying the plugin is already installed.

Any help would really be appreciated!

I'm using Mac OS X as well. I've double checked and the plugin is installed (looking at installed software).

I've tried a clean install in Eclipse 3.6.1, Windows, and it works fine. Note that the perspective, preferences pages, etc., are now under the name "DDT" and not "D".

Otherwise, it could be an OSX related issue, but have I no guess what could be causing it. Post the Configuration Log and the Error Log ( "Help/About/Installation Details/Configuration") please.

Found the issue, Ed was using Java 1.5, but 1.6 is required. doob you likely have the same problem.

Unlike the other kinds of Eclipse plug-in requirements (such as other plugins, or OS/CPU/WindowManager constraints), there will be no user feedback when this requirement is not met, the plug-ins will just silently not load.

Yeah I'm also using Java 1.5, I'll try and upgrade and see if that helps. Is it possible to add some kind of feedback when the requirement is not met?
