DSSS output seems messy to me. If you look at the output of MacPorts, it outputs something like: (using python for an example)
Code:
---> Fetching python
---> Extracting python
---> Configuring python
---> Building python with target build
---> Installing python

This isn't exactly what the output is, but you get the idea. If there are any errors, then the output from the process that produced an error is written, but otherwise the output is not shown to the user. It gives cleaner code, and a verbosity switch can always be added to print commands the way they are now. I think it would be a good idea to clean up the output.

Just my < 2 cents Smile
