Hey,
Been using miniD for some time now, and I really love it. But what's the status on MiniD 2.0? Is it safe to use it yed?
Also, if i want to check to check if a object is a instance of a specific class, how can i do that?

You can watch the progress of MiniD 2 here, which basically just shows the proportion of tickets closed.
There are still some major things I'd like to get implemented before making it beta at least. Mostly the binding library is not yet up-to-date and some more fundamental changes to the way the API works are in order. There are also some nice features I'd like to implement, like optional arbitrary-precision arithmetic and parameter type constraints.
Beyond that, there's the matter of documentation and updating the spec. That alone is a project.
I wouldn't expect the release version of MiniD 2 for another few months at least (development is kind of slow during the schoolyear but picks up nicely come May). However, if you're feeling adventurous, you can check out the /branches/v2 directory from the repo and use it Most of the new features are documented only in the tickets, and there are changes to the API which are undocumented right now, mostly because it's in a state of flux.
Lastly, to see if an instance is of a specific class, use the 'as' expression: "a as b" expects 'a' to be an instance and 'b' to be a class. If 'a' is an instance of 'b', 'a' is returned; otherwise, 'null' is returned. |
