Hi!
Did you see http://clang.llvm.org/ project? Would it make sense to coordinate efforts with them, somehow? |

The clang frontend is good stuff.
Unfortunately, there would be a huge disconnect and lag between any D work for clang and the dmdfe that is currently being used. Dmdfe is updated continuously for free by Walter, so it is the best choice, I believe. It will always be updated and properly maintained (well, as long as Walter is around, I guess
Clang is being directed by Dr. Lattner et al, at Apple, and they have some definite goals that do not include D. There could possibly be a branch later, by someone, for D but it would take a great deal of effort.
Just my thoughts.
Thanks,

I think the differences between the DMD frontend and clang are probably too big to really be able to share code in a useful way.
One thing that might be interesting would be to make extern(C) code generated by LLVMDC compatible with clang C code. But right now I think getting the language implemented to a satisfying degree is much more important...
