Have we decided on a name for the project? For the namespace?
I've heard Phoenix, but we'd be conflicting with someone else. Then we could change it to Firebird and conflict with someone else.
Any more on Ares, the Greek name for Mars? Other suggestions? Everest, K2
Latin for "fix":
destino -are [to make fast , fix down; to fix, determine, settle, appoint]; with infin., [to resolve to do]; of persons, [to appoint] to an office; of things, [to fix upon, intend to buy]. Hence partic. destinatus -a -um, [fixed, determined]; n. as subst., [an objective or intention]; '(ex) destinato', [intentionally].
Latin for "rise":
(Lots of good ones on this page: http://cobalt.archives.nd.edu/cgi-bin/lookdown.pl?rise)
I like sero, surgo
For the English to Latin translator:

Knock-offs of boost: surge, burst, emerge
When we have more suggestions or a good base, I'll make a poll with them, so we can have a vote. _________________ I really like the vest! |

Well I suggested 'Ares', so of course I'm a big biased. I've been using 'phoenix' everywhere else since that was where the threads were going at the time.
Brad, can you set up a poll for this topic if nobody contributes any more ideas? I think that would really expedite things. _________________ -- !Eric.t.Anderton at gmail |

panic ("deimos" translated into English)
intrepid (fancy way of saying "fearless")
dontpanic (for Douglas Adams fans) Edit: Oh, and I'm re-suggesting newt because it's short and fun to say.

If we do a poll with a bunch of suggestions, we should do a run-off if no option gets the majority of votes. |

In keeping with the Greek theme, I'd like to suggest Talos/Thalos--possibly the greatest artifice of ancient times and purportedly given as a gift to guard Crete. Besides, how can you resist a giant robot? |
