I'm not certain that I understand your question, but I think you're asking if anyone is working on Elephant. I'm pretty sure it isn't being developed by anyone.
From digitalmars.D:31299:
Quote: | Actually im no longer developing elephant , but Im going to try to start a new community IDE built with DWT , so if you have any thoughts on your ideal IDE please share them!
My only fear is that it will come out too much like eclipse -- and actually im still on the fence, there are so many IDE's out there already is really worth it ? I personally dont use IDE's. |
In fact, the Elephant project site itself has this:
Quote: | Hola!
Elephant is no longer in development, but check out Poseidon ! |

I think Poseidon still sees some work, whereas Charles who originally made Elephant (and started Poseidon), now helps out with the Descent Eclipse plugin. |

Sorry, I erred. But you have understood me correctly
Why author moved to developing Poseidon ?
Elephant IDE IMO more functional!
I think D community should have native IDE - it's better than add support D language in Eclipse! |

For those already using Eclipse for other languages, it's easier to have D there too. As for Elephant vs Poseidon, I think Poseidon was started to actually write something in D (I think Elephant is .net?) |

I think that Elephant was developed in Visual Studio using C++. I suspect what happened was that developing it was a lot of work, and Charles saw that the Poseidon project was making good progress and decided that he was done with Elephant. Also, many people lose interest in writing programs in C++ as D has become more powerful and better understood. In any case, the code is still out there if someone else wants to take up the project again.
As far as the Eclipse plugin, I think it's a positive thing. As larsivi mentions, some people are already using Eclipse for another language. So if they get interested in D, they might be more comfortable with developing for in a familiar environment with an Eclipse plugin for D. |

I thought Shawn Liu started Poseidon as showcase for DWT or something... |
