Happy New Year Kris!
What's wierd is that some members of the DNG and dsource are already in 2006.
Looks like Derek was first (Melbourne) and you are going to be close to dead-last (San Jose?). _________________ -- !Eric.t.Anderton at gmail |

I assume that's only because Radon Burton was busy. He's from New Zealand and that get's the new year before me by 3 hours. _________________ --

I guess I better join in this "happy new year" thing too.
We can think of it as the biggest year for dsource.org. A mighty thank-you to Brad for his significant contribution!
I think we've established that these forums are much more tolerable than the d newsgroup (so far; *crosses fingers* )
Oops! Did I say that out loud?

Is there a traditional saying for the New Year, wherever you reside?
The Scottish one is Lang may yer lum reek ~ spoken with a dose of understated attitude, as is the Scottish wont. It translates roughly as Long may your chimney have a pervading smell, relating to having enough warmth to survive
Any others? |

As a California transplant, I suppose the local saying is something along the lines of "Happy New Year... Dude!" I much prefer the Scottish, but then it's also in me blood Still a few hours to go here, but Happy New Year everyone! May your glasses never empty and your bellies always be full. |

Just turned here in Houston - happened to walk past the PC - Happy New Year to all of you. You make the site, I'm just the facilitator.

I've never heard of such a nice saying here, but many focus on thanking for all the good things that happened in the last year:
Godt nytt år og takk for det gamle! |

I was not in a condition to be near my computer last night, but I think I've got an appropriate one for around here. Based on the reports I've been recieving lately- "Happy new year, now gimmie all your cash- fast!"
Happy New Year everyone!

Hehe.. funny you should say that. Not to whine, I had a CV joint go bad in my car last night at almost exactly 8PM. Needless to say, I now have to give some mechanic all my cash - fast.
That didn't dampen my spirits too bad (I'm laughing now), but you should've seen the look on my wife's face when I picked her up from work that night, with the car making that god-awful noise! Afterwards, much wine and (home-made) sushi was had by all. Truely a night to remember. _________________ -- !Eric.t.Anderton at gmail |
