I would like to move a previously prototyped PyQt project to a typesafe compiled language. Is it still to risky to try QtD? C++ would be the safe bet, but I don't really enjoy the languagge. D/QtD is great, but I'm wondering if it's to early to try doing a large project in it?

Are there any big issues that I need to be aware of?
