Since my goal is to develop cross-platform apps for both windows and linux, I attempted setting up a dev environment in Ubuntu 9.10. Using DSSS v0.78, DMD v1.053, GTKD v1.3
I compiled an app just fine, but when I go to run it (as root or user), I get:
Code: | Error: Library load failed: libcairo.so |
I checked in /usr/lib and found the files:
libcairo.so.2.10800.8 - a shared library
libcairo.so.2 - a link to shared library
I tried creating a link to the first file called 'libcairo.so' and then my program ran fine. Is it safe to do this? I am not fully accustomed to Linux hared libraries and so don't feel very comfortable proceeding without advice.
Thanks,
