installed descent into eclipse europa on linux.
Adding default compiler does not work and according to ticket #87, the comment says:
"You can select the include path manually if that doesn't work."
do you mean here
configure build path -> add external include path
or similar?
the ticket status is WONTFIX. anyone knows why and what's the problem?
as far as I understand as long as there is no default compiler I cant compile anything and can't even use DMD to check for compilation errors.
Is there any possibility on linux to compile at least an object file per source file and have errors highlighted if any? I'm not talking about compiling whole program, in fact don't event need any object files, just want bullet proof error checking done by DMD directly from eclipse at least on per file basis.
kind Regards! |

Hi bgeradz,
The compiler configuration is just so that Descent can do autocompletion, go to definition, etc. It's just a shortcut to add phobos as an include path. But the name is wrong, it should be something like "runtime library configuration"... that's why it's marked as WONTFIX, because it will eventually be removed.
You can add phobos or tango as an include path. Still, you currently can't compile file using Descent. You can, however, use an external tool, as described in the documentation.
Marking errors per file as the result of a compilation is currently a work in progress. I also tried to do semantic error highlighting, as in JDT, but it's really hard to get it well done, and will probably never be fully implemented (and thus, disabled in future versions).
All the best,
Ary |
