As you can see in the SVN trunk, the samples have extension "ds", because that was the extension DMDScript used. However, I think Walnut needs another extension.
I think "ws" (Walnut script, but I don't know if that's taken), or "nut", or even "walnut".
Suggestions, anyone? |

"ws" is good because it can also mean "walnut shell" where "shell" represents the container holding the walnut script (in this case a file).
Seems fairly appropriate to me!

There again, this is ECMAScript we're talking about ... isn't there some commonly accepted extension for such things? Such as "js"?
Certainly, the libraries are different, but the language remains the same. If there is indeed a common language file-extension, we might perhaps consider using it. |

You're right, but I have one point to make: your typical "js" files won't run on Walnut. They contain "document", "alert", "submit", etc. Yes, it's a library thing, but I think it could confuse users. |

Hmm...
well, I've got it set to *.js right now I think. I'm wondering if it shouldn't be *.nut.
It just has a certain ring to it.
"The man's got nuts!"
"Your nuts!"
"Oh nuts"
"csharp.nut"
"left.nut"
"ajax.nut" "web.nut"... yep.
It's catchy. It lets us use file associations. I hereby declare that from now on, unless someone can give me reason otherwise, Walnut will use the *.nut file extension.
